Trējuvenation - $1M CalFire urban wood utilization grant project. The goal of this project was to increase the proportion of end of life trees going to their highest and best use, whatever that might mean for a given tree (but primary products of interest were lumber and wood charcoal). We worked toward that goal in a wide variety of ways such as by increasing the number, size, and accessibility of log yards; increasing the number of local sawmills and people trained to use them; increasing the amount of local kiln capacity by about 2x; improving chain of custody and inventory standards; hosting and participating in local educational events; better connecting the already existing industry players locally; developing college curriculum; and creating an online marketplace for locally produced wood products at www.sandiegolumber.com

Finally it was sold to a young couple to continue its journey with new owners.
